Early Age
Jeremiah Taron Grant also known as Jerry "Prince Bee" Grant, born to Kimberly Prince and
Kevin Taron Grant. Jerry was born in Jersey City at the Jersey City Medical Center on October
12, 2009. He was enrolled in the Jersey City Public School system once attending PS 15, PS 24
and PS 14. Jerry was very sensitive and smart. His favorite subject was math and he wanted to
be a principle. Jeremiah loved sports, wrestling being his favorite. He once participated in Jackie
Robinson T-Ball, and Soccer, taking pride and showing effort in everything he do. He was a
tough competitor and a winner.
Jumping in his Blood from the Start
In kindergarten, at the age of 5, Jerry started jumping and became a founding member of the
Jersey City's Honey Bees double dutch team. When he was in the 1st grade he competed in a
division called unattached where he dominated the sport becoming undefeated ranking 1st
place every competitions. Jerry became known worldwide for being undefeated in the division,
scoring highest of grades K-8. The American Double Dutch League named the first place
unattached award "The Prince Bee Award" in memory of Jerry "Prince Bee" Grant.
In 2017 The American Double Dutch League allowed Jeremiah and his team, Team Spirit, to
compete in The World Championship taken place in Sumter, South Carolina. Jerry team was the
first to compete at this age level. During the competition Jerry completed compulsory routine in
25 secs, and 1 min speed. Team Spirit collectively did a freestyle and they became the first
World Champions of the age group K-2nd grade.
Team Spirit placed highest score in the Novice division from all teams grades K-8. In August
2017 Jerry along with some of his team mates appeared on the Tonight's Jimmy Fallon show,
where he showed off his floor trick moves in and out of the ropes.
Jerry's Interest in the Community
Jerry was a great pillar of his community at a young age. Jeremiah has participated in many
different community service projects such as community feedings, occupying corners, where he
would empower the youth and families within communities to utilize their gifts, skills, and talents
to keep them focused. Jeremiah volunteer his time and skill throughout his town participating in
various parades, marches, fitness and health fairs encouraging people to get motivated and
move in better directions training adults and children to become fit through the sport of Double
Dutch. Although Jerry was only enrolled in 3 schools in Jersey City, he was very popular
throughout the Jersey City school system. Jeremiah went along with his mom training children
at PS 41, 15, 40, 17, 12, 5, 27, 23, 29, Boys and Girls Club and Elysian Charter School of
Hoboken.
Jeremiah received numerous awards for his outstanding community service, and for his
participation in leading his team to becoming World Champions.
On June 2, 2018 Jerry was inducted to the Trailblazer Wall of Fame at the Mary McLeod
Bethune Center in Jersey City, N.J.
Jeremiah has empowered the youth and adults that once believed or said "I can't" realize they
can do anything they put their mind to.
